The Junction Homes for Sale, Toronto

the junction real estate torontoThe allure of The Junction's homes for sale lies in their location in Toronto's growing West End. Sometimes considered the "next West Queen West" thanks to its character urban facades oozing with historic charm, the neighbourhood attracts both artists and entrepeneurs alike. Much like the gentrification that's been going on throughout the busier parts of Toronto (though to a lesser extent here), The Junction has repurposed industrial and warehouse brick structures that make for good lofts and office spaces for said demographic.

The residents of the Junction themselves are quite diverse. The cluster surrounding the stretch of Dundas St West known as Little Malta has for generations been home to Maltese immigrants. The neighbourhood takes its name from the Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) line that crossed Canadian National Railway (CN) tracks in the area.

"Members of the community come together during the Junction Summer Solstice Festival each June to celebrate the longest day of the year with art installations, street food, live music, vendors, and street culture. It's definitely something to take part in!"

The Junction, Toronto: Spotlight on Little Malta

Little Malta is the charming little area that roughly stretches along Dundas St West, from Gilmour Ave to Quebec Ave, close to the easterly adjacent neighbourhood of Runnymede. The small community-within-a-community has its roots planted early in the last century, when Maltese immigrants arrived in Toronto in search of employment and to escape over-population in their island country. The community then established St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in 1930. As the population grew after the end of WWII, a larger church was eventually built in 1956, which to this day serves as a local landmark of Little Malta, along with the locally-famous Malta Bake Shop. The family-owned joint has been in business for over three decades and are known for their delicious pastizzi, a must-try savoury pastry staple from Malta.
